On multi-sensor monitoring of fiber laser fusion cutting

Abstract Laser cutting is a well-established industrial process for sheet metal applications. However, thick plates still accompanied by problems because of the characteristic limited parameter window. Since means fiber lasers has become dominant, tailored solutions are required in such systems The development robust real-time monitoring system, which adapts parameters according to specific quality requirement, implies significant step forward towards automated laser and increases robustness performance. In this work, coaxial multi-sensor system tested stainless steel plates. A high-speed camera photodiode sensor have been selected investigation. Experiments at different speeds, representing primary cut cases, conducted various features obtained zone signals examined. Finally, feasibility application developed setup high-power discussed, followed several implementation recommendations.
